Seattle

We took our first plane trip last weekend! Mom was nervous, but Diesel handled it like a champ. He slept through most of the legs of the flights and ate the rest.

We went to Seattle and had a great time with Chris, Melissa and Ryan. Ryan is so cute, he makes the greatest sounds and sleeps like a champ.

We went downtown to Pikes fish market and we also got to see the Tigers loose :(
Check out some of the pictures of us in the plane at the game and at the sculpture museum.
This is Diesels first try in the bumbo, very cute!
Diesels first plane ride!

Mom, dad and Diesel... I think dad needs longer arms so we can all get in the picture better.

All of us at the game!

This is what happens when Craig forgets podzilla at home!
Hope all is well with everyone, talk to you soon.

Smiles

Hi Everyone,

Diesel started smiling a little over a week ago - wow what a difference a smile can make. I just love it!

Diesel is now over 2 mths old, he changed everyday. For instance today he followed an object with his eyes, seems like a simple, but it took him 2 mths :-)

We spent the fourth of July with the Kevin, Gretchen, Tim, Tammy and Griffin - We don't have any pictures of it, but I do have some cool pictures of Craig and Diesel on the Harley.

We also had a great weekend with Fran, Madison and Olivia. Fran had a soccer tournament in Plymouth so they all stayed with us. Fran was awesome in her tournament, I don't think her team won, but it isn't always about winning.
Well that's all for now. Diesel takes his first plane trip on Thursday to go to Seattle to see the Strouds, wish us luck that we don't get any delays.
Love Sue, Diesel and Craig!

Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a great time over Memorial day weekend.

Kevin and Gretchen came in from Prescott and Sean, Tracy and Aidan came over from Chicago all just to meet Diesel for the first time. All of the kids got together to take pictures for Mothers and Fathers day, it was really nice. And the cousins were together for the first time, I'm sure when then get a couple years older we are in for some trouble!

We barb-b-qued a couple times even though the weather wasn't that great on Saturday or Sunday. Monday made up for it and it was a perfect day in Michigan, Diesel even wore his Tigers gear to show how big a fan he is.

Diesel also went to a restaurant for the first time with Grandpa and Mimi. We all walked up to Royal Oak and enjoyed a nice lunch at Prontos, Diesel was great and it was nice to know that I can go out with him :)

The next time we all get together will be in August for a week at a cottage on the West side of the state, I'm sure there will be a ton of pictures!

Visitors!

Hi Everyone,

Diesel and I have had a lot of visitors, I just thought I would put the pictures up so everyone can see.

At the hospital Diesels Aunt Fran and cousins Olivia and Madison came to see him when he was only 1 day old!

Grandma Carol also spent 2 days with us and we went to the zoo, I don't have any pictures of this, but I know Grandma Carol does. We went to the zoo with Anne, Ashley, Trey, Jill, Nathan and Molly - It was a rainy day so I didn't really see anything!

Grandpa Tony and Grandma Mary also came stopped by to see me on their way to Pennsylvania!

11 Days old.

It's hard to believe that Diesel wasn't even supposed to be here until tomorrow. I'm so happy that he has been in our lives for 11 days already. Things have been going great. He is sleeping really well and eating even better. I'm sure that on Monday at his 2 week appointment he'll be a lot bigger.

(see how tiny i am, i must have a king size crib)

(I'm in the jungle, see there's even a lion looking at me)

Here are some more pictures. He had his first bath in the tub yesterday, before that he still had his umbilical cord so we gave him 2 sponge baths.

(here i am after my bath, see my hair looks like dads!)

Also on Sunday and Monday Gina came over to take his first pictures, I can't wait to see them I know they'll be awesome!

Dad didn't know mom took this picture, I think he thinks I'm going to steal his sheets.

He's HERE!

Diesel Matthew Keighron
Born 05/05/2007
7:09pm
6lbs, 13oz.
20.5 inches

Well, I was right my water did break Saturday morning! Everything went really well, my contractions didn't start until about 11:00am, we stayed home until they were about 2-3 minutes apart. We headed to the hospital at around 2pm. We ended up having Diesel Matthew Keighron at 7:09pm. Everything was great, I feel that I was able to do whatever I wanted and this was so awesome. Craig was unbelievable, I was a little worried that he would be a smarta$$, but I tell you what he was awesome and I couldn't have done it without him.

We came home on Monday and everything has been outstanding. We feel so blessed to have Diesel in our lives. I stare at him all day.

He definitely looks like Craig - mostly his long toes and skinny calvles :)

He doesn't have my thumbs yet, but he may grow into them!

Thanks to everyone for the food, flowers, good wishes and blessings. Craig and I had to cancel the bbq we were going to have on Sunday, soon we'll reschedule so everyone can meet him.

We think the time is here!

It's Cinco de Mayo and my water broke this morning. It's wierd, it's hard to tell if your water breaks and just trickles...

We're going to try and just stay at home as long as possible. We'll see h ow it goes :)

38 Weeks!

The weeks are flying by! I went to the doctor again today and things are progressing. I'm a little over 1 cm dilated and my cervix has effaced to 1 cm (from 3cm...this is a good thing). The doctor was going to do something with the membranes around the cervix, which "could" bring on delivery sooner, but I would rather my body let things happen. We'll see how I feel next week :)

Craig and I are trying to make the most of our last couple weeks. We went to a Tigers game on Sunday and Monday...they won both games...goooo TIGERS! We just went to a movie tonight, we figure it will probably be years before we go to another one. Not only because we are going to have a baby, but because we really aren't movie watchers :)

Well keep an eye on the blog, I'll try to most something when I go into labor.

37 weeks!

We had our 37 week check up on Tues. (2 days early). Everything still looks good. Our doctor is great, hopefully he will be around when we have this little guy. He shares a practice with 2 other women so if he isn't on call it will be one of them. We have met both of them and they are very nice so it shouldn't matter.
The weather has just turned nice and we just finished our last final a week ago. I'm being a little selfish and hoping that I go to full term so that I can enjoy the weather!
We're going to a Tigers game on Sunday, which should be greatttt!
Here are some pictures of me. I'm getting big!

(sorry if the 2nd picture offends anyone...they're just boobs :) Both are 37 weeks.

36 Week Check up!

We had our 36 week check up today. It went really well, we had an ultrasound and got a chance to see the little guy one last time before he makes his live appearance. Based on the measurements he is about 5 lbs so it looks like we'll probably have a nice healthy 8 lber! We figured this since both Craig and I were about that size. I still don't think I'm ready yet, I just turned in by take home final for my non-profit class and tomorrow I have a final in Finance (which I am procrastinating studying for). Once school is over then I think that I'll be able to prepare myself a little more for his arrival.

Have a great day!

34 Week check up!

I had my 34 week check up on Monday. Everything is going great, the babies head is down which is a good sign. I asked if he could turn at this point and Dr. Brodsky said there is a 1% chance that he could (lets hope that is true). I'm measuring to 33 cms (this number correlates to your weeks), so I think that my prediction that I'll go a week late will probably be true :-).

I go back in 2 weeks for my final ultrasound, it should be pretty cool to see him all smashed up in there...poor guy! After that I'll start going every week, Yikes!

It is getting really close.

Baby Shower! 3/25/2007

My sisters and mom had a great baby shower for me at my house. It was so nice to see everyone. Craig and I got so many great gifts, it really is starting to seem real. I have the baby clothes all washed and the crib ready, now I just need a baby. But he needs to stay cooking for another couple weeks until I finish my finals!

It was amazing how many pregnant friends we have or friends who have just had their children. Here is a picture of the girls who were pregnant at the shower. Since then 2 of them have had beautiful baby girls. Jill had Molly Amanda on March 28th and Gina had Nela Rachelle on April 2nd - I've seen Molly and she is beautiful, I'm going to see Nela on Friday and I'm sure she will be also!

(from left to right: Susan - dd 8/2007, me - dd 5/17/2007, Jill -3/28/2007, Gina 4/2/2007)

Thanks to everyone who came to the shower and gave us so many wonderful gifts.

31 week check up

Hi All,

Well we had our 31 week check up yesterday. Everything looks and sounds good. His heart rate is in the 130's, it was funny when the doctor was using the doplar to listen to the heart rate he kept on kicking it so you would hear showsh showsh showsh and then a thump. He already sounds like he takes after Craig and I - 'never sitting down'.

I also confirmed yesterday that I have pubic symphysis seperation or dysfunction. Below are a couple sentences that I pulled off of a website. - basically I've been in pain for a while and I've ignored it because I thought it was just symptoms of pregnancy. No wonder it was so painful to turn over in bed...I thought it was because I had a huge belly. (basically I think my problem was probably caused because of all my running injuries and misalignment)

The Pubic Symphysis and the Sacro-Iliac joints (in the back of the pelvis) are especially important during pregnancy, as their flexibility allows the bones to move freely and to expand to help a baby fit through more easily during birth. In fact, the pregnancy hormones relaxin and progesterone help the ligaments of your body to loosen and be even MORE flexible than before, so that there is plenty of 'give' and lots of room for the baby to slip right through. Simply put, significant pubic pain is caused by the pelvic girdle area not working they way it should, probably because of hormones, misalignment of the pelvis, or an interaction of the two.

I'm going to try and take it easier, but we'll see :)

Can't wait to see you guys soon.

Babys' Room

We started the babies room during Christmas break because we knew we wouldn't have time to work on it during the semester. We bought the rug first and then based the colors off of that.

This past week we got the crib - it is really hitting home now!

Here are some pictures of the room and me -

since a lot of you haven't seen me in a while. I'm 29.5 weeks!

He is moving like crazy - I just love it. I find my self watching my belly a lot. I'm still running 4-5 times a week - I'm a lot slower, but it feels great to still get out and run.

The baby shower is scheduled for March 25th. This month is going to be super busy, I have 3 classes a week - but the busier I am the more efficient I am :-)

Christmas 2006!

Craig and I drove everywhere for Christmas. We made the rounds to Vassar, Grayling, skied up at Shcuss Mountain (yes - I skied). We had a great Christmas with the family. Here are some of the outfits that Baby K got for Christmas - the KISS outfit is from Melissa and Chris Stroud -this is the outfit he's coming home from the hospital in!

I also got the little guy a onesie for when he's on the Harley.

For New Years Eve we hopped in the car and headed over to Chicago for a couple nights with Tracy, Sean and Aidan. Craig and I headed to the Museum of Natural Science - It was very cool. (Picture to be added).

Tracy was nice enough to make me fondue for the first time, I loved it!

We headed up to Antigo for a New Years Eve Wedding. Craigs' best friend in high school Travis got married on New Years Eve. We spent a couple nights with the Kjomes' - their house was outstanding and it was so relaxing to stay with them.

Thanksgiving 2006!

Craig and I flew out to AZ for Thanksgiving. We went to the ASU/UCLA football game. It's probably good that the little guy didn't really know what was going on because ASU couldn't pull off a win. ASU made up for it the following weekend by beating AU!

We headed up to Prescott and then took off for the Grand Canyon at 5:00am on Nov. 21st. Even though I was about 4 months pregnant we decided to be crazy and hike down and up the canyon in 1 day! We started down the canyon at about 9:00am, here's a picture of him in my belly =)

We had a great time, it took us about 8 hours to hike the total of 17miles in and out of the canyon. CK was really feeling it - I think that he finally realized what it is like to run a marathon.

It was a great vacation, we spent Thanksgiving with Kevin, Gretchen, Sean, Tracy and Aidan. It was really nice.

Griffins babtims Oct. 15th

For Griffin's babtism the whole family came to Michigan so Craig and I took the opportunity to tell them that we were expecting. I think that everyone was pretty shocked that it was so soon, but they we very excited for us!

Baby K's first Tiger game!

Craig and I went to a Tigers game on Oct. 10, 2006. We hadn't told anyone yet that we were pregnant. JT and Sue never even questioned that I wasn't drinking :) Maybe it was the fake sips I kept taking from CK's beer!

First Blog!

Hi everyone,

This is my first entry into baby Keighrons blogsite. Since I'm going to be working part time starting in a month or so I'm hoping that I'll have time to keep this updated with pictures and tails about our new little arrival! I'm going to start out with all the adventures that I've been on while in my mom's belly...(she doesn't settle down much :)
